Senior living community opens doors to residents

Earlier this year, my client Watersound Fountains – a Watermark Retirement Community in the Florida panhandle – officially opened its doors to residents. Working with the community, I created a strategic PR plan to share this news with the local and trade media.

The goal of our outreach was to connect with as many local residents - and tourists visiting the area - as possible and to drive reservations at the community which offers independent living in one of the most desirable parts of the state.

Outreach included a press release, targeted media pitches and a media alert inviting local outlets to attend the ribbon cutting event. The result was widespread local news coverage – including a feature story in The Thirty-A Review, a hyper-local lifestyle publication that reaches 30,000 residents and tourists in the area.
